Looking forward to settling in Canada and building a new life?

HOW TO IMMIGRATE TO CANADA AS A TECH PROFESSIONAL
How to Immigrate to Canada as a Tech Worker (Part – 1)
Canada’s tech sector is booming and needs labour to sustain its growth; for this reason, the Canadian government offers ample immigration options for tech workers that want to come to Canada.
Due to the high demand in the tech industry, Canadian immigration for tech workers is on the rise which is why Canada offers special work permits to tech workers. That said, there are ways for tech workers to immigrate permanently without ever having worked in Canada.
Here are some of the most popular ways to immigrate to Canada for tech workers in 2023:
Express Entry
Express Entry is a popular option for tech workers that want to settle permanently in Canada.
Canada operates three main economic programs through the Express Entry system: Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades (FST). The Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program is ideal for tech workers with no previous work experience in Canada.
The Express Entry system requires submitting an online profile that is scored by Canada’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Candidates with CRS scores above the cut-off are invited to apply for permanent residence.
While the Express Entry system does not currently consider occupation when determining a candidate’s CRS score, the immigration minister recently hinted at moving toward occupation-based Express Entry draws. This would allow the federal government to select candidates based on specific labour market needs. Since there is a high demand for many tech occupations, this would be good news for tech professionals in the Express Entry pool.
In the meantime, provinces continue to invite tech workers directly from the Express Entry pool through Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).
Provincial Nominee Programs for Tech Workers
Here are three popular PNPs for tech workers overseas that want to settle permanently in Canada:
1. Ontario Human Capital Priorities Stream
Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities stream is a great immigration option for overseas tech workers that don’t have a Canadian job offer. The stream regularly holds targeted tech draws, where they invite tech workers directly from the Express Entry pool.
The challenge of this stream is that tech workers can’t apply without first being invited by the province. In each tech draw, Ontario selects a targeted CRS range to determine which candidates will receive a Notification of Interest (NOI). Those who receive an NOI may apply for nomination within 45 days of receiving the notification.
Targeted tech occupations include:
Software engineers and designers (NOC 21231)
Computer programmers and interactive media developers (NOC 21230)
Computer engineers (NOC 21311)
Web designers and developers (NOC 21233)
Database analysts and data administrators (NOC 21223)
Computer and information systems managers (NOC 20012)

How to Immigrate to Canada as a Tech Worker (Part – 4)
Quebec Immigration
In April 2021, the Quebec government launched an immigration pilot program that benefits certain tech workers. The pilot program allows foreign workers in certain tech occupations to settle permanently in Quebec. The pilot program has two streams: artificial intelligence and information technologies and visual effects.
Quebec’s artificial intelligence stream targets two types of tech professionals: graduates from a Quebec college or university, and foreign-trained workers. Though a Quebec job offer is required for Quebec graduates, the same is not required of foreign workers if they have sufficient work experience in Quebec. The stream also requires candidates to have relevant education that minimally corresponds to a Quebec bachelor’s degree.
The information technology (IT) and visual effects stream targets workers that have experience in one of 10 select occupations. At least two years of work experience in this occupation must have been completed within the past ten years. Candidates applying under this stream must have a job offer, or be working in their field, in Quebec. Applicants must also have completed education that corresponds to a Quebec diploma of technical training or a Quebec bachelor’s degree. Eligible occupations under this stream include:
Computer and information systems managers (NOC 20012)
Electrical and electronics engineers (NOC 21310)
Information systems analyst and consultant (NOC 21222)
Software engineers and designers (NOC 21231)
Computer programmers and interactive media developers (NOC 21230)
Electrical and electronics engineers technologists and technicians (NOC 22310)
Computer network technicians (NOC 22220)
Audio and video recording technicians (NOC 52113)
Graphic designers and illustrators (NOC 52120)
Producer, director, choreographer and related occupations, but only if your job is in the visual effects sector (NOC 51120)
Both streams require applicants to be at least 18 years old, intend to settle and work in Quebec, respect the conditions of their permit in Quebec, and demonstrate financial self-sufficiency.
Candidates that do not speak French can apply under the “Francization” profile. Instead of demonstrating French proficiency, these candidates must sign an agreement that they will learn French upon arriving in Quebec. Quebec offers free language courses for immigrants to help support their integration into the province.
What are Your Employment Prospects Like?
Demand for tech workers in Canada is higher now than ever. With a growing demand for tech professionals, more and more Canadian tech employers are looking to immigrants to fill labour market gaps. In past years, over one-third of jobs in Canada’s information and communication technology (ICT) sector were held by immigrants.

Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)
LMIA Program
The Canada work permit has certain fixed features – a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) and a valid offer letter issued by Canadian employer. It is important to note that under LMIA (programs), the federal government of Canada allows authentic employers to hire foreign skilled workers, professionals, trained youth and so on. Since LMIA Canada immigration is an authorisation granted by federal government of Canada, it is not easy to secure it without seeking support from reliable experts or immigration consultants.
What is Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)?
The Labour Market Impact Assessment is a legal document issued to Canadian employers, who seek to hire a foreign national or skilled worker to meet requirements of local labour markets in provinces and territories as well as to fill vacant job positions in diverse industries and sectors. The LMIA program is always supported by valid job offers. The Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) permits Canadian employers to hire foreign skilled worker provided they advertise the vacant positions in various platforms, job portals, newspapers, magazines, employment platforms etc for one month. If Canadian employers still do not find Canadian citizen or permanent resident willing or fit for the job positions, they are allowed by ESDC to hire a foreign worker.

It is important to note that Canadian employers should be a regular taxpayer in Canada. Also, the occupation or job position offered by Canadian employer or selected by candidate (or foreign skilled worker) should be listed in the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list. The NOC is the national system to describe and grouping (classifying) job vacancies or positions according to skills.
In order to secure Canada work permit, both Canadian employers and foreign skilled workers and immigrants need to have a copy of positive LMIA to support job offers and expedite visa application process. In other words, a valid job offer should always be supported by a positive LMIA.
Applicants, who have online profile in Express Entry pool, can gain extra points on Comprehensive Ranking Scale (CRS) by securing valid job offer. It ensures Canada immigration through official channel on fast track mode. Please make a note that foreign skilled workers (or applicants) must fulfil all eligibility criteria of immigration process.
Since application processing under LMIA program requires a lot of documentation and co-ordination, applicants must seek guidance and support from trusted immigration consultant like Key Global Immigration Services to achieve their dreams of Canada migration.

Canada Express Entry Program
What is Canada Express Entry Program?
Started in 2015, Canada Express Entry program selects applicants based on Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) – a point based selection system adopted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This point based tool evaluates applications of candidates in Express Entry pool based on age, profile, education, previous work experience, and skills, adaptability etc. In short, Canada Express Entry Program selects candidates having education, work experience and right skill set required for the skilled worker immigration programs (streams).

Canada Immigration Express Entry – Popular Immigration Stream
A large number of skilled workers, young professionals and trained youth are willing to settle abroad due to lack of proper opportunities in countries like India, UAE, South Asian countries etc. Hence, last decades witnessed brain drain to countries like the UK, the USA, Australia, and Canada. Various research reports suggest that a huge number of professionals, who have migrated to other countries in pursuit of better living conditions and employment opportunities, always look for work opportunities that pay them good money, provide job satisfaction and stable career. Immigrating to Canada has seen surge in last decade to the extent that Canada has become one of the prime destinations to settle outside the country. The country welcomes immigrants and highly skilled workers due to rising demand of foreign skilled workers in different Canadian industries. Canada immigration Express Entry has been one of the most lucrative platforms for moving to Canada.
he most popular benefits of Express Entry are –
• Free education up to grade 12th
• Subsidized health care
• Choice of living and working anywhere in Canada
• Protection against crime
• Right to avail social welfare schemes
What Is Canada Express Entry Process?
Canada Express Entry is a well-suited method of immigration for skilled workers and professionals. The candidates are shortlisted as per their skills and capabilities mentioned in Canada Express Entry applications. There is a point-based immigration system of selection for the candidates in this category. The aspiring candidates create an Express Entry profile in which one can enter their details and get a referral code.
Canada Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
The Canada Provincial Nominee Program is a channel to settle in Canada and receive permanent residency status. The PNP immigration allows provinces and territories to nominate eligible candidates, who can be foreign skilled workers, trained youth, professionals, international students and entrepreneurs, to migrate to specific Canadian province. It is important to note that the Canada PNP program is different from the Express Entry immigration stream, but each Canadian province has at least one immigration stream linked with the federal immigration selection system of Express Entry.
The Express Entry aligned immigration streams help candidates, who have received provincial nominee certificate, to earn extra 600 points on Comprehensive Ranking System scale if they have online application in the Express Entry pool.
Is Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) a Good Canada Immigration Option?
With the rising number of applications for immigration to Canada, the Canadian employers always seek to hire right and ideal skilled workers, professionals and trained youth to fulfil demands of labour markets and industries in specific province. Each province selects and nominates candidates to meet demands of labour and skill based industries and has efficient manpower, who can contribute towards growth and development of economy.
To resolve such issues as well as to meet demands of labour markets and industries in Canada, the federal government of Canada has made things simpler and quicker for several aspiring candidates by offering them options of applying directly or through the Express Entry program to work and settle in the province of their choice. This also helps the Canadian province to select and nominate foreign skilled workers and professionals interested to work and settle in specific province. This pathway of the selection and nomination of eligible candidates by the Canadian provinces is called the Canada Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) or PNP Canada.
How to Secure Provincial Nominee Program?
In PNP immigration, candidates interested in settling in a particular Canadian province can speed fast their application processing by meeting all eligibility criteria mentioned by provincial authorities. It is important to note that eligibility criteria for every province depend on the immigration program through which the candidate is migrating as well as demands of labour market and employment opportunities in that particular province and territory. Candidates, who meet these required guidelines in particular immigration stream of the Canadian province, are selected and nominated by the authorities. Eligible candidates receive provincial nomination certificate. This is how the Canadian provinces attract foreign skilled workers, international graduates, trained youth and professionals to strengthen economy and industries.
What is the Lowest IELTS Requirement for Canada PNP?
The lowest International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score (language proficiency) depends on the immigration program (stream) through which the candidate has applied for the PNP as well as credentials of candidates to a large extent. However, certain provinces nominate candidates even if they have a very low IELTS score, thus help them to migrate to Canada. These provinces include Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Nova Scotia. But, it is always better to have a high IELTS score so that candidates have better choices in the PNP.
Canada PNP 2022 Without a Job Offer
Getting a Canada PR visa through PNP is possible even if candidates do not have a valid job offer from a Canadian employer. Some of the provinces that do not require a job offer letter for immigration include-
Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program
Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program
Quebec Skilled Workers Program

Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)
Atlantic Immigration Program and Process
What is Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)?
The employer-driven Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) – formerly called Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) – takes care of different demands of employers, labour markets, industrial domains, sectors dependent on skilled workers etc. Started in 2017, the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) has been made a permanent immigration pathway from January 2022 after evaluating its success in retaining young talented foreign skilled workers in Atlantic Canada. The AIP offers Canada immigration in four Atlantic provinces namely Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island. The Atlantic Immigration Program provides job opportunities to immigrants, foreign skilled workers, trained youth and professionals and helps them develop stable career in Canada.

Why Candidates Should Apply for Atlantic Immigration Program?
According to recent reports, the federal government of Canada aims to welcome as many as 7,000 immigrants, professionals, trained youth, entrepreneurs and foreign skilled workers under AIP by 2022. The government is committed to provide job opportunities to immigrants, foreign skilled workers, professionals, international students and trained youth as well as fulfil demands of labour markets and various industries.
Atlantic Immigration Program Process (AIP Process)
The Atlantic Immigration Program concludes on 31st December 2021. The Atlantic Immigration Program welcomes foreign skilled workers in Atlantic region of Canada, including international graduates (students), from the Atlantic Canada region.

n order to successfully migrate to Canada, candidates must seek support from reliable immigration consultant in Dubai and Middle East like Key Global Immigration and must understand Atlantic Immigration Program requirements to avoid any miscommunication and delay in processing and documentation.
